How Did You All Like The Expo?
I don't think this thread has been started yet, because I've been searching and searching for it.
How did everyone enjoy the expo? I had a hell of a great time (yes even with the car accident)
After the car accident and posting about it on here, Jay (Kurzix) called me because he thought I was in Mississauga already and I told him what had happened. My aunt told me to get my butt on a bus and have him meet me there so I'm not alone in downtown Toronto at 10:00pm.
So he met me and it was all taken care of.
So the day of the expo, Jay and I went with my old friend from here who now lives in Toronto. I was all excited and happy to have made it regardless of the accident. Everyone who had read my car accident post gave their sympathies and were very nice.
I called mom when I realized how much I actually like Tarantula's, thanks to Jen at Arachnomania, and she wouldn't allow me to get one. But I got to hold them a number of times lol
I also fell in love with a Children's Python at the reptile store and held my first tree boa at the pcpc table. I've been contemplating getting an ATB for a bit now and really wanted to see what it's like to handle one and maybe get bitten. I didn't get bit and was pretty nervous but it was great.
The bar time was great too Went to dinner with Pete, Beejay, Jay and Jen and enjoyed that aswell. This was my first time not having to rush or anything because of non-herp lovers around me.
I only bought a probe kit and two books. But the time spent in Toronto was amazing I can't wait until the next expo, I'm counting the days.
How was everyone elses trip?
Jenn

there was a good selection, mostly juvis since breeding season is just starting for many, prices were a lil bit higher than they are later in the summer when everyone is trying to get rid of all the babies they have, but all in all it was a good show.
Next time I am bringing money to get some books and such, and it would be great to find more accessories and caging at the next show.
Left early though and missed the bar scene... speaking of which, anyone found a bar close to the new local?

Well, it was quite the adventure for me. I live roughly 2.5hrs away from the location. All was going well, met a fellow aquarium fan ( Hi Roger ) who was kind enough to give me a BUNCH of plants, did some browsing, many gorgeous snakes Went out to my truck to hook the cell up to the antennae to make a call, got out and proceeded to lock my keys in the truck
OMG, I was soooooo ticked. So I asked my new friend to try to help me ( what a first meeting LOL ), to no avail. I asked another friend, and at that point I was ready to come back in the show and YELL 20 bucks for whoever can open my truck LOL. Luckily, he got it open....thank you thank you thank you.
That done with, back to enjoy the show.
I must admit that I was disappointed in the lack of leopard gecko's, and thought some of the prices on assorted herps were very expensive. All in all though, it wasn't bad, just not the best that I've been too. I am looking forward to the next one, very much so.
I had to skip the bar scene as I was driving....need to resist temptation LOL.
After checking out a couple stores, me and the friend I had with me headed home. Rolled down my window for a bit of fresh air,
the stupid window would NOT go back up
We drove 2.5hrs to my friends house, then I had to drive another 40mins or so, home.....all with the WINDOW down.
I was soooooooooooo not impressed.
Ok, ya'll can laff at me know

I thought the show was pretty good.. I didn't get a chance to walk around and check out what was at all the tables, but i had a great time behind our table chatting with Linds, Mike (Linds' BF), Jen (Clownfishie), Chappy, Dean (Thanks for the ferret) Matt, Joe as well as the staff at the PCPC table.. Got to see a couple people i haven't seen in a while which is always nice as well seeing the show regulars (Shane, Roger, TonyL, Marisa, Silke and many more) as well as meeting some new people.. It was nice to finally put a face to a 'Font' and meet Yness who made the trip in for the show.. Some of you might of recognized him, he was the dude walking around that looked that guy from NSync.. LMAO.. All in all, it was a great show...

i have to agree, i was looking forward to the show, and i went there, i saw a drawf chameleon, and there was one elft i was like awwww dam, i asked the guy how much it was $150!!!!!!!!!!ya right! i walked for 5 mins n the show, and i saw a guy with 8 of the little guys i was like awww hes sooooooo lucky, they were the cutest thing ever ugh. I went there looking for leopard geckos, looked at all of them and they were 40-500 bucks estimating. I was hoping to see more, cause at the last show i saw tons, but there wasnt as much at this show, but i did get one , i went there at 12, and everything seemed to be gone lol, but other then that i enjoyed it

I thought it was a good show, although it was way too hot for me. Hopefully the new place will have air conditioning. I didn't buy any herps but I picked up two plants. I met Jordan but noone else from ssnakess. My one friend got a chilian rose hair trantula from Arachnomanias and my other friend got a smaller cruly haird trantula. I wanted to get a ball python but was short on cash maybe in april...
rock on

I had an awesome time at the show Got to meet a bunch of people that I'd only ever just "talked to" before... had a great time hanging out with Joe, Matt & Linds at the table... got my picture taken by Shane several times (and I hope to god that one of them doesn't turn out as bad as I know it's going to... lol...) as there's really no way to AVOID having that happen. Wasn't much happening down in the bar this time, but had a few beers anyways And maybe one day I'll forgive Marisa for taking off before I got to meet her and say hi in person finally Maybe. LOL.
All in all I had a great time, and I'm definitely going to have to try and make it out to a show later this year at the new venue -- it's going to rock!!
