Albino and Het albino Nelson's milksnakes

Hey everyone,

I've fallen in love with images of Albino Nelson's milks. Anyways, im going to be checking out care sheets and all this stuff for them myself but im asking all you out there for any info on them. Pricing, lifespans, care, average young after breeding. I dont trust care sheets anymore. I learn all my stuff from good sources. But i will do some reasearch. LOL.

Also, if i were to breed a 100% het to a 100% het i would get 25% albinos and the rest would be 66% or 75% het for albino right? Also, if i bred a 100% het to an albino i would get 50% albinos, and the rest would be 50% or 66% hets right? Thanks.

Albino nelsoni are still relatively rare up here in Canada and are in the $250-$300 range. They reach an average lengh of 48'' and produce clutches of 6 eggs on average. It is not uncommon for most colubrids to live 12-15 years if not burned out for breeding.

100% Het X 100% Het = 1/4 albino and 3/4 normal that are 66% Hets or 2 out of 3 may be het.

Homozygous Albino X 100% Het = 1/2 Albino and 1/2 100% Het.

Anybody have any more info on them? Possibly where i could get one? Im looking at getting a pair(100% Het Pair, 100% Het and Albino Pair, or Albino Pair) by September. Thanks.

I keep all my Nelsoni in 30 gal, shallow tanks. I keep them at 85 degrees with a thermal gradient of about 7 degrees. I keep hides at both ends of the tanks. I use a calcium carbonate sand mixed with pea gravel for substrate, the gravel helps hold heat for a slower cooling effect at night when I drop the temps about 8-10 degrees.

I offer them food twice a week for 3 weeks, then I skip a week. I find this works very well and have had no problems at all. I have never needed to scent any prey for the Nelson's as I have with some Mexicans and Gray-Bands.

I think over all they are a hardy snake and a good chioce for a colubrid, I will be producing albino Nelson's, Pueblans, and Mexicans next year. I seen an ad for some albino Nelsoni from Henry Piorun, check his web site.
