You should all NO!

I replyed to a post on Rep Rescue tonight and I felt so bad for the reptiles i went to look at. That i ended up BUYING! them just to give them a chance. All together i got 1, Small colombian red tail
1, 6' Male colombian Boa 1, Male Blue tounge skink.

Now for the problems that i have seen and am now trying to help get better.

Small red tail/ very dry skin on her head so bad she can not hold her head leavel She was in a small jewel pouch and eye cap's

Male colombian/ Live in a pillow case Mouth rot eye cap's dry skin so bad that it has coverd every opening on his face and is now so swollen he can not even shut his mouth.

Blue tounge/ Alot of red around his mouth cut nose and was living in a rubber-maid the size of a shoe box. With shaveings and no water.

Also i would like to ad that when i got to this person's house They went out to the back pourch (OUT SIDE!) and brought the herps in. they were so cold and life less and i felt so bad that i had to try to help them. So tonight it has cost me $340.00 to try to save some of these herps. I will post some pic's ASAP

This person still has alot for sale on reptile rescue And maybe on this site as well So if you would all like to be safe then sorry PM me and i will let you no this persons name.

Thanks

Brandon

Thats absolutely horrible! How people can treat any living creature like this is beyond me! I treat my FEEDER rats better than that!

I'm glad you had the heart (and the money!) to rescue these poor snakes/lizards.

Anyone keeping reptiles like that should be giving them away not selling them. He should maybe be charged with abuse too.
I PM'd you but your box was full.
Cheers,
Trevor

Some people, I tell you. If you need any help with that, let me know. For now, after the female warms up, give her a nice warm bath to help hydrate her. Let her soak in there for a while, then try rubbing the eyecaps off with a Q tip. Go in one motion only. As for the mouth rot, I will leave that for someone else. Apply polysporing to wounds on the skink. Good luck.

Nice to see that not all reptile owners are like the one you bought them from. All too often people take on more than they can handle and who suffers? The poor helpless animals! I know where you are coming from, over the years my wife and I have spent more time and money than I want to admit rescuing unwanted animals.
Has anyone contacted the SPCA? Anyone who treats animals like this should be charged or taken out back and stomped!!
Unfortunately this happens all too often, in the "Wanted" classifieds on this site, a certain "member" is wanting sick or injuried reptiles "no questions asked" only to turn around and sell them to unsuspecting people as fit and healthy animals. People who put their finances above an animals well being should be run out of this hobby and blacked balled! KEEP THE FAITH

I would absolutly not have given this person any money No matter how bad i felt for these animals.

I would have done somthing to stop this person from getting any more animals. Giving money to people like that just adds to the problem.

I commend you for giving good homes to these animals But it sounds like more then just the animals you got needed rescuing.

Nicky why would you want to buy these reptiles from these people brandon did i would look else were for a pet for your 20 gallon tank.
The people selling these repitles should be giving them away to good homes were they can be looked after properly

Since you have photo evidence, and a personal account of what happened...I think you need to put a thread on the Canadian BOI. You can include your story, your photos and names there. It will prevent other herpers from having this bad experience and give the person a forum to defend themselves.

http://faunaclassifieds.com/forums/f...s=&forumid=614

I am a big fan of posting the results of dealing there. Its one of the only ways pressure can be put on bad sellers by the community, and a way that compliments can be shown publicly for those breeders who work their *** off and sell qaulity .
