Ackie substrate

Hi, i have some questions about the yellow ackie and red ackie substrate.
1.) Can you use soil
2.) Can you use aspen shavings
3.) Can you use sand ( if so what type)
4.) Is Dirt the best substrate.

Study where they come from. Plenty of the available literature goes into great detail about the environment where they naturally occur.
