The most available Dwarf monitors in Canada are <i>V. acanthurus acanthurus</i>, and <i>V. acanthurus brachyurus</i>. There are also a small number of <i>V. storri</i> up here as well, but not many people are breeding them (successfully).
There are a few other species that are up here, but none are being produced in significant numbers as of yet, so I won't mention them.
All of the species I mentioned above could live in a tank that size thier entire life, but I would only suggest keeping them in only pairs or trios at most in a cage that size.
