Hog Island growth pictures
i just thought id post some pics of my female hogs growth.
She is growing like a weed and slamming down rats like a savage.
The first pic was taken the day i brought her home on 08/31/03
and this next pic was taken tonight 12/17/03
i also did a measurement of her tonight and she was roughly 39 inches in length, and she was born on july 15/03
let me know what you think.

Wow, that is quick growth. I betcha she will be a big girl for a hog! My 2002 female hog is only about 41 inches. How often/what size are you feeding now?
A Dr. I know has an F4 from wild caught parents that were averaged sized. He fedher a lot. He calls her the garbage disposal. He keeps mostly colubrids and whenever he has an animal refuse a meal it goes to her. She is over 7ft now and perfectly healthy!

I am only feeding her 1 hopper size rat (approx 60 grams) every 5 days, i know it doesnt seem like a huge meal for her but it leaves a very noticible lump in her belly.

I see... I think that is the perfect size meal. I feed mine the same size rat. I had been feeding her every seven days until I switched to small rats about a month ago. Now I feed her every ten days. That explains the difference in growth LOL!
