Sketchy Rat

I have a female rat that I want to bread in the next little bit. She is still young and small (150gm). She has some very wierd behaviour. She always seems to twitch her head up and to the left in a very abnormal way. She is not sniffing, and it seems uncontrollable. It is almost like she has tourettes for rats. Has anyone seen anything like this? Should I keep her and have her breed, or should I put her down and use her for food?

Thanks,
Nic

I just bought some rats and one of them is doing the same thing. Guy at the pet store claimed it was a problem with one of her eyes. I was skeptical but they had another there with the same problem and he also claimed it was one of there best breeders/mothers. She had about 12 to 15 fuzzies and they all seemed healthy and normal. So i guess we will see.

Hope this helps

I personally, wouldn't bread your rat, they are much better pan-fried.

when a female rat is in heat her ears will vibrate. not sure if that's whats going on with your rat but it's quite comical to watch.

Its her entire head...she keeps tilting it up and down rapidly. If it is an infection, will I be able to see anythhing I should be looking for in her ear?
