yes, they could crawl on him, and even bite him wich would be very stressful for the snake. get them out. hose down the tank, and destroy any chemical trails left by the ants for other ants.

i dont think it would bite for no reason, they dont even bite me. im kinda assuming they arent any harm, just rather pests. I put some Vasiline on top of the tank's edges, that'd keep'em from comming in.

They just came in by themselves? Or were they on the substrate or something? Its kind of wierd that they would just go in there for no reason. Make sure theres nothing in there that would lure them, like... I don't know... a tiny bit of uneaten food? Thats wierd that they would go in the snake tank. ~TR~

I agree Oliverian - something is drawing the ants in. I don't think, (if they are very tiny) that their mandibles could penetrate a snake's scales, however they can be bothersome. Clean the tank thoroughly, (I like to use a mild dish-soap diluted in water), and replace cleaned substrate, dishes and hides. I have have problems with 'sugar ants' in the past... they were lured into my geckos' enclosures by water... They would gather and drink non-stop. You may need to change the location of the tank to solve this problem. Good Luck!
