My Kenyan sand boa

Hello,
this is a pic of MARDI GRAS my kenyan sand boa!
It's a male of 3 years old.
He is small but fat!! I have his since 3 month and He ate just 2 times since acquisition (1 frozen hopper mouse each time).

It's maybe normal because is fat?? What do you think about this? Do you think that I should try a fuzzie live mouse?

Thanks!

once a month eating for sand boas is not uncommon. Your animal is not skinny, so you should stop worrying and stick with a 3-4 week feeding schedule and hoppers should be fine for the animal for the rest of it's life. Sand boas generally prefer small prey items.

Every once in awile my sand-boa's give me trouble when it comes to feeding...and I prefer to maintain an "every 7 day" feeding regime, because I need my animals robust and healthy for breeding.

All you need to do is dip the frozen thawned fuzzy in chicken broth or egg yolk and you should have no problems.

Best of luck,

Dan
