Question Does anybody that does shows have Liability Insurance???

This is half question, half a word of caution.
In this day of people being sued ect. One should
have insurance to do their animal shows.(very expensive as well)
One little bite could cost you everythig you have.

I love showing my animals and have done many shows
over the years. But I don't do any now that I'm not covered
by insurance. Even having a waiver of some sort
will probably not protect you.

THis is just in my opinion, what do you all think?

Country:
i think having insurance is definietly helpful and the best idea.

we do shows on a fairly regular basis....once every couple weeks or so
.....I make everyone sign a waiver saying that they are aware of the risk of being close to live unpredictable animals and they will not take legal action in the event of any unforseen "action" by the animals.

its not the BEST protection, but Im sure it helps....If i did more shows throughout the year, i would definitely get insurance, it would be well worth it!

Sounds like very sound advice to me. I haven't done any shows, but may do some in the future, and I'll be sure to look into that.

We carry $1M liability for doing our programs, which we pay through the nose for (~$3300/ year).

Some venues require it, though. If you do any shows for municipalities, gov't agencies, shopping malls, and other commercial clients, you will likely run into customers who won't hire you if you don't have it.
