Question How much are Hogs & Colum Red Tails?

What are the current cost values of a Hog Isle Boa and a Columbian Red Tail Boa (prices together and separate please); both about a year and a half old, great curious temperaments/personalites, healthy eaters (will eat f/t), both about 3 feet long, bright colors with flawless skin, and are truly wonderful snakes? I have to find new homes for my beloved snakes because I’m moving to Hawaii (military move) and I can’t take them into the islands. (Refer to following link for story: http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/showt...threadid=19215)
If I don’t give them to friends to care for them for me, I want to know what their costs are and not be taken, but of course a good home comes before cost. Thank you.

jncoclub, you seriously can't take those numbers and divide them by 1.36 by yourself??

The prices on the Hog Islands will vary depending on if it's male or female, the coloring and blood line as will the Col Boa.
Without pics it's hard to estimate but average specimens of both would be in the following range from what I have seen out there.
Male Hog Island $125.00 - $150.00
Female Hog Island $150 - $200.00
The Col Boa $50-100.00
Good luck on it!
Is you Hog a male or female?

Jeff- I am more than competent to do the division, I just didn’t know what the $ to $ conversion was. Thank you for telling me 1.36.

Stormyva- All my snakes were probed as females. My hog was probed twice as a female, as was my col redtail, but there was a bit of unsure-ness with the redtail.

I believe we paid right around $200 for the redtail and $160 sounds familiar for the hog.

But jncoclub, I forgot to add, and this is super important to you:

The US market it completely different to out market, but this will work in YOUR FAVOR, so bear with me!!

There are a TON of breeders in the US. I mean a TON. And competition is fierce. This coupled with the fact that US Fish and Wildlife are a bunch of door-knobs, means that US breeders usually sell domestically. This means that prices fall because the supply is so crazy high!! This is good for you and you should be able to find a Hog Island baby for Under $150US. Maybe even $100US!!! Check the US Boa classifieds at Queensnake. There's a TON of Hogs already for sale.

As for true redtails, well you get what you pay for. Get from a reliable Boa breeder and you can't go wrong. You won't get ripped, and most likely, you'll get a superior specimen. For sure.

Best of luck! Let me (and all of us) know how it works out for you!!! Welcome to the world of boas man!!

Cheers.

If it comes to the point where you do need to sell I would be interested in the Hog Island.
Let me know what happens!

I have a ball python, burm, colombian red tail and the hog- I've gotten a couple emails about the hog- she is definately one of my favorites because she has such a great personality- but what is it about the hog that gets everyone excited? Or is that it? They all have great personalities, eat well and like to be handled?

And thank you Jeff for your enthusiasm- it really is encouraging- but unfortunately I have to sell my snakes, I'm moving to Hawaii because my fiance is in the Navy and that's where he's being stationed in a few months.

Should I have reworded my title to "How much can I sell a Hog Isle and Colom Red Tail"? Would that alter your responses?

I love coming to sSNAKESs.com, but it's now depressing me. Are there any cool new reptiles I can get once in HAwaii? Otherwise I might just get a dog.

Hawaii?? There's no snakes in Hawaii!! (well, except that brown tree snake that's causing all the problems).

Chameleons and geckos are about it there man. No snakes allowed.

This is Jennifer/JNCOCLUB- I'm just signed on uynder my fiance's name)
I know that there are no snakes in Hawaii, that's what initally sparked this thread., I'll recap- my fiance is in the Navy and we just found out that our next base is going to be in Hawaii (on Oahu- Pearl Harbour) and since snakes are not allowed, I have to find new homes for all my beloved little girls. I was asking how much they cost so I know what I should possibly sell them for. I'm still doing research as to what I should do with them. It's killing me that I have to fidn them new homes.
