Question albino looking for her eggs!

Does anyone else have a female (or females) that seems to be distraught after you take away the eggs from her laying box. My albino starts to dig around everywhere like crazy and makes the biggest messes after I take the eggs away to be incubated. I didn't think that they were supposed to have any maternal instincts but she seems to have plenty.

Here is a pic of the mess she left this time

My fat-tails used to search for their eggs, too. I just replaced the substrate they layed their eggs in and gave them some wax worms or a pinkie to distract them. Seemed to calm them down.

my girls do it all the time. after i take out the eggs they still lay above the eggs and at times continue to kick more subtrate onto where the eggs where laid.

I've even had a leo try to trick me. when she laid her eggsshe made a big mound on one end of the cage and was laying there when i woke up. I searched the area and found nothing. I knew she laid her eggs i could tell by looking at her. So i searched the whole cage and found them way on the other end. she had buried them and placed all the subtrate back perfectly flat. Silly little leo tried to fool me.

samba you think the stories cute you should have seen me tearing the cage apart looking for those eggs. i know she was laughing at me the whole time. "haha you'll never find them." I know that what she was thinking.

Ha! I know, they can be pretty sly. I used to have a 'hot' female that laid eggs almost constantly (even though she didn't breed, and was probably sterile anyways), she would wait until I was gone to lay them, then hide them underneath 4 inches of substrate. She was a character, all right. I would think I found them all until I changed the substrate and I'd always find like, 5 more!

On another note, how is Loki doing? Is she still improving? I still want to order that Parazap because my little baby gecko has recently stopped eating. She's been dewormed, (in March when I got her), and she eats if I pop a cricket or mealie in her mouth. Maybe she's just too lazy to hunt them down herself, but I 'starved' her for about 4 days, and no results, she was just happy to be hand-fed again. Spoiled brat!

ya they do get too spoiled from hand feeding. i had to break a few from that.
Loki is still a everyday battle. at least now she's eating somewhat. in the past week she has eaten over 20 mealies and about 10 wax worms. YEA!!!! she's even coming out and basking on one of the hideouts, and yesturday i caught her lapping up some water. Don't get me wrong i'm happy she's showing signs of improvement but we still have a very very long way to go. But that parazap is completely worth it. Specially if it saves her life. and all my other leos that i gave parazap to they are acting better then ever. All of them have turned into HUGE pigs. So even if it doesn't save loki's life at least it has improved my others. and now i have something to combat worms with in the future. Without having all the vet visits and harsh drugs.

oh yeah i bought a book to help me learn all of the protazoa (sorry cant spell) and my boyfriends buying me a microscope. so i can learn how to do fecal samples at home.
