Moving on Wed.
I’m moving on Wed. I have a 4-hour drive a head of me and I need to move my ETB. He is a well-established 4 yr CBB. I was thinking of just leaving him in his cage on his perch. I drive a tracker. I was thinking of putting him on the back seat with the back windows open to let air flow through. I also thought I would take my RayTek with me to keep close dibs on the temp and mist him if he started to get too hot. Any thoughts or suggestions on this move would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Trevor

I personally would not leave him in the cage .. Id find him a suitable tuppperware countainer .. keep a very ver moist towel on the bottom and either leave him right in it or give hi a prech .. and check on him every so often ..
I find when travelling them, the smaller the rubbermaid and place to move them in the better they do ..
Heatting should not be a factor.. Just don't forget to periodically check him and keep air holes .. anyway that is how I would move him but I am sure others have very good suggestions tooo...
Take care,
Dom

Maybe defining cage may help. He is a glass tank that is 30Lx13wX18H. I just though I would remove the water bowl and place the whole thing on the back seat. I use a Hagen locking screen top with nylon straps to help keep it in place. I like the wet towel idea. The back windows are tinted so that should help keep the sun out a bit. I can put him in some thing other then his cage my only concern is whether or not it should have a perch?
Cheers,
Trevor

well I hate to say this but.....
if he is in a glass cage or even a metal cage and you accently get hit or something you stand a chanch of ruining his and your life forever. Atleast in a rubbermade you dont have to worry about an impact explosion. As far as something to hang on I wouldnt put anything in there but maybe a water dish. You dont want anything to come loose that is not needed if incase you are hit. Loose or barly loose items become projectiles. Perhaps I am being paranoid. But I am just thinking about how I would want my daughter to travel. Not that I would put her in a cage.......though the though has crossed my mind! :w

thats why I said rubbermaids .. also the smaller the better b/c if an accident, the less room there is too move in the less chances are of him gettin' hurt..

I think I have it figured out.
Here is what I'm thinking. 4.5 gallon rubbermade, snake in a bag, damp towel in the bottom with the snake. Would it benifit the snake if I placed a piece of perch in the bag with the snake so that it could coil around it if it wants to? I thought I would put the container on the front seat so that I could closely monitor the temps and mist every so often.
Any thoughts?

As long as the snake can not get smothered then you are all set! The snake will be fine w/o a perch for a few hours. Good luck on the move! Hope you and your snake enjoy your new place!!

Rat room too!
Will do. Not only will I have a snake room but I will also have a Rat room too. You see the house is a 3-bedroom farmhouse with a mobile home on the property as well that has been converted into a garage/storage unit by my father. The living room was converted into a garage but the kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom are still all intact. I'm going to covert one of the rooms into a rat room. The building has water and electric heat. I'm looking at year round production with a deep freeze in the kitchen. Should be sweet.
Cheers,
Trevor
