Bought a really nice drift wood at the pet store and i was wondering, is it ok just to put it right into the snake tank once its bought or do i need to wash it a little?

I would recommend cleaning it. You never know what kind of bacteria has found its way onto that piece! And to make sure that all the parasites are erradicated, bake it in the oven. Wrap the wood in tin foil and bake it at 150 degrees F for about an hour. That should do the trick

Before wrapping it up, try adding some seasoning salt. Put the drifwood in a large pan, add some water, the salt (on the wood!) and maybe cut up a few onions. Stuff any holes with bread. Bake one hour per pound.

lol Jen... :P If you bought it from a pet store you would probably be okay just scrubbing it with some anti bacterial dish soap or a 5% bleach / water solution...

If it was bought at a pet store then i would definately bake it in the oven at 250 for approx 2 hours.
In some cases Pet stores which sell reptiles tend to be very bad for mites. Besides why take the chance?
