Hi i am might be going to Florida at the end of the month for a week and wanted to know what kind of snakes and lizard are around there.
I would like to go catch and let go for some fun while I am there I have to drive my dad and grandmother down there so I will have some time to do what i like best and check out the wildlife.
So any INFO on what i will or could find there would be nice

What part of Florida are you going to visit as we have several different style habitats. If you get to Everglades National Park, don't be surprised if you find some Burms.

Buy yourself a field guide. I've gone herping down in Florida and I have two field guides. Trust me, it helps!!

Please understand that some animals are protected and MUST NOT be touched. The Eastern Indigo, for example, if you come across one in the wild, do NOT touch it. You can take a picture, but no contact at all... unless of course you want to pay a fine of $50,000......

Have fun. There are lots of great herps here. That really sucks about not being able to pick up an Indigo though. I have always wanted one. I got to hold one here at a state sponsored reptile and amphibian education exhibit. But like I said you should come across some interesting stuff.

If you're going to Miami Beach and you're young, trust me, once you get a taste of South Beach you won't be interested in herping! Most of your time will be spent clubbing!

ive lived in florida but now i live in iowa and its a big change.Florida is covered with skinks and copperheads and garters,they are everywhere you look.also at night on walls of building there are tons of geckos and tree frogs.also when it rains salamander scome out of nowhere.and these species are located all over florida.imagine what you could find if you actually looked!
