Humidity in vivarium, grey banded king snake

Hi

We have just set up out vivarium with a grey banded king snake and are worried the humidity is up at 70%. He has only gone in to day, and the substrate, hardwood chippings, was damp when it went in so I probably drying out. He has a water bowl in ther, but hasn't yet dried out after 12 hours. Are we worrying too much or is this something that needs looking at now? The vivarium has 4 ventilation vents at the back. This is exactly the same substrate, temperature and water bowl he has had in the shop where he was bred.
Thanks
Chris
