Help identify this snake

Hi guys. I posted days ago and must have done something wrong as the post never appeared. I had to relocate these from a disgruntled neighbors patio. There has been some debate about them being rat snake or black racer juveniles. The homeowners regularly see 2 large rat snakes there and claim to never have seen a black racer. Who knows if they can tell the difference but they did show me one pic of a fat adult rat snake. What do you think?
