Retic locality royalty
Ok so I know I said my collection was done apart from a couple of small colubrids but then this came up.
As some of you may remember I've been mulling a dwarf retic for some time but I'm a stickler for proven localities-something that is even more important on something like a retic where a) pure localities are rare and b) it has a significant bearing on size.
So here we have a 1.0 F1 pure Madu locality reticulated python. Parents are both WC long term captives and both are between 4 1/2 and 5'!
To say I'm excited to have found him is an understatement!
Breeder pic for now. Should be incoming in a couple of weeks.

Re: Retic locality royalty
Thanks all
Really is a dream snake and there's only a couple of others 'on the list' so to speak.
Thing is about sd Retics is they don't think they're small so they have all the attributes of a 20'+ monster except the size and yes I agree, so pretty.

Wasn't a pure locality like that and picked a fire tiger instead I posted about.

Fair enough. I nearly went for an SD platinum in a charity auction. Very pretty snake and would have been much cheaper but was not pure locality.
It was a tough choice but couldn't pass the opportunity on this one.

I would have done the same thing, if had the opportunity for such a pure blood direct line to wild caught. Better someone like yourself got it, one day someone with a pure female might want to breed. Best to keep such pure animals pure. Harder and harder these days, everything is mixed and unknowns.

Re: Retic locality royalty
I know someone with a 1.1 pair of proven locality so will try and snag a female when he breeds them then I'll have an unrelated pair myself

Re: Retic locality royalty
Just had a text through from the courier. The retic is arriving late next week
I'm ever so slightly giddy. My local store had some mainland x Madu in and they're just such special looking snakes...
