Fat Sandsnake

My adult femal Kenyan Sand boa is getting FAT.. She just had a large litter 3 months ago, and has more than rebounded since then. She almost looks gravid again. I have been pelting her with food, and she eats all the mice I offer her. I was once told that overfeeding erycines is a good way to kill them as their metabolism is slow. Since this girl is in a sweaterbox, I'm afraid that she is getting obese, even though she seems very allert and healthy. How can I tell if a sand boa is obese, or gravid, without x-raying her as that'll cause stress both to her, and to my wallet.
Thanks

if you think she is fat she probably is. Once she has regained her weight you should back off the food. Fat snakes tend to get bent scales were they bendI've even see a boa with celluite! I've found that once a snake is over weight it is hard to get the fat off.

I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean by bent scales... and cellulite?? on a snake? are you seriouse?

Still doesn't answer my question of her possibly being gravid again, I woulndn' t want to make her go on a diet if that were the case.

Yeah my male Rosy is getting to be a porker himself. I think I need to cut he's meals to one mouse every two weeks instead of every 10 days.

Maybe, but its a bit of a different situation, as my fat sandboa is a female, so I just wanna know how to tell if she's just getting fat, or getting big as a result of developing babies..
