Question Strange Behavior.

Hello,
Name is carissa, I have a bearded dragon his name is Flambo we got him in Febuary. He is decent size gets feed every day and gets water everyday to everyother day. Okay so to the point the other day i looked into his cage and he was out of water he had a little in there in the morning before i went to work so i decided to wait to fill it until after work any how after i filled his bowl i put my finger in the water to get a water drop and i dropped it on the tip of his nose so he would know there was water he all of the sudden stood up almost on to his toes and flattened out his belly he didnt tried to bight me acutally he licked the water off of my finger so i kept giving him water drops for a few seconds then i just wiggled by finger in the water to give it motion so he would come drink and the whole time he drank he stood up really tall with is stomach flatttend out and after he walked away he went back down to normal size. i put another drop on his mouth and he instantly stood up again like he was before. but if i started to pet him he would go back to normal. now i havent seen him do it since then so my question is why is he doing that, is it a sign off aggresion or stress or just an odd random behavior, once i get home i wil upload the picture i got of it. but i am just curious i want to be sure that he is okay.

Re: Strange Behavior.

Huh, that is kinda weird. Ive never heard of that particular behaviour as a result of drinking before. I dont see any reason to worry about it, but its curious as to why water instigates that behaviour. Normally the flattening like that is in regards to thermoregulation or even trying to be threatening. Perhaps he is getting a bit freaked out by the water drops and responding by making himself seem large like that. Just a guess though....

Re: Strange Behavior.

He could be freaked out not use to the feeling. Maybe he just doesn't like the big droplets because when we most the cage on occasion he just sits their calmly, it's really weird to me I have never seen him so anything like that before maybe it is my hand. He did nip me a few times when I was doing it this time to get the picture never nipped me before but he got me like three times this time around

Re: Strange Behavior.

Reminds me of a rough knobbie, maybe he is having identity issues.

Re: Strange Behavior.

My male does that if he sees the other female dragon in the house
