Need info on Pueblan Milk

I recently acquired the first snake I've owned in several decades, the pet store said it was a Pueblan hybrid but they didn't know what it was crossed with. They also told me that room temp was fine and he didn't need any other heat???
So I discovered this forum while searching for some accurate info about him/her. Are there some links to a GOOD care sheet that could point me in the right direction? Temperature, humidity, etc. I plan to build a nice enclosure, but have no idea what size would be optimal.

Re: Need info on Pueblan Milk

Can you post a good pic of your Pueblan? I'd love to see it.

Re: Need info on Pueblan Milk

Yes, I would also like to see a picture.

I have an apricot pueblan. Had her a little over a year now. She needs bigger quarters!

Some heat is necessary. I have a small heating pad stuck to the side. Also a red light but that isn't really necessary.

OK, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? When I try to post a photo of Marley checking out his new enclosure I get this message:

Post denied. New posts are limited by number of URLs it may contain and checked if it doesn't contain forbidden words.

I only have the one photo in the post.

Re: Need info on Pueblan Milk

The only time my pueblan likes the warm side of her tank is after she's eaten. Pueblans have a well deserved reputation for being flighty and muskers. Hopefully yours will be a bit mellower.

Re: Need info on Pueblan Milk

Marley had been living in a Kritter Keeper plastic tank, he's now in a 18x18 low Exo Terra enclosure that he seems to like. He's buried in the eco earth substrate most of the time. There's a heater in one corner, he seems to gravitate towards that pretty often, especially after eating, but I do keep the house rather on the cool side. The heater is stuck to the underside of the enclosure, would it be better on the side?

He actually pooped on me tonight, first time he's ever done that. He can be VERY fast when he wants to be, and sometimes he's a bit flighty when I first pick him up, but he mellows out quickly and likes to weave between my fingers and go up my sleeve.

I call him a "he" but he hasn't been sexed.

Oh, and Aleks, THANK YOU for the link to the care sheet, I just realized I forgot to thank you earlier!

Re: Need info on Pueblan Milk

Our Pueblan milk snake is the same way. He was a Christmas gift for my daughter. He's a very aggressive eater but very shy and flighty like you mention. He's settling down quite a bit now and is really turning into a great snake.

He's growing fast and I've noticed some of his bands are turning color a bit. Some are more apricot than yellow or white. We're about to put him on fuzzies instead of pinkies. He's now taking two pinkies at a feeding.

This is how he looked when we first got him... Note the first and second light bands.

And here he is a few weeks ago. Note the second band is turning apricot or yellowish...

Pretty! The first light band is much wider on your guy than on Marley.

Re: Need info on Pueblan Milk

if the snake in your avatar is the one you're trying to post, i'd have to say that it's most likely a pueblan/nelson mix.
