Do you have bamboo floors?
If yes, what is the durability like? How does it stand up to dog stampedes? What about spills? Does it stain? Scratch? Can you slide across it in your socks?

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
I find the bamboo floor to be pretty durable. I have a smaller dog (25 lbs), however she is extremely high energy and there are marks in the floor from her but honestly are hard to notice. I guess you could slide along it in your socks but I have never tried! I don't slide on it when I am walking across it ![Big Grin](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) We have spilled many things on the floor and no stains. I would recommend it. We have hardwood in the house and bamboo and I would definitely use bamboo again.
Note: Our bamboo is pretty dark so maybe that is why the dog marks in the floor are hard to see.

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
Try sliding and get back to me? Please?
I have a 110 lb Malamute/Anatolian mix and a 90 lb German Shepherd... scratching really isn't an option. Is there any way to protect against scratches or am I out of luck here? If I'm out of luck, can anybody recommend to me another eco-friendly flooring that isn't carpet?

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
Ok, in normal socks I can not slide across. In fluffy socks I can. I often slip on it when my yoga pants are too long....and it's danger. But I have used an oil cleaner on it and think I probably shouldn't have and may have affected the slip factor ![Big Grin](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) We have had it for a few years and besides the yoga pants, I haven't slid across it. My dog will tell you a different story ![Wink](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif) . I think with pets and possible spills that bamboo is probably your best bet? Keep the dogs nails trimmed and it will help a lot.

Boo, I want to slide! Lol.
Oil cleaner? I'm not sure I can use that... I know that oil based paints are toxic to birds, I don't think that oil cleaners will be okay in the house...

Pour mineral oil all over your floor and slide across in joy until you smack your head.

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
I use Murphy's oil too much. It's not really good for the floors....but I love the smell of it. I think if there wasn't a build up of the Murphy's oil, they may be slidey. You shouldn't use the cleaner I use!! I use an H2O mop also. It is the absolute best.

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
Have some of this in 2 bedrooms of our home, really durable in the case of dropping or things sliding across it, but the top finish will scratch off of it. Moving my computer chair back on forth on it everyday has not managed to do anything to it though

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
I have a bamboo flooring all throughout my house except for bedrooms. Dogs don't damage it and spills easily come off.

With big dogs this is your best bet. The better quality Pergo is so scratch resistant you can take a key to it and not make a mark. I worked at Lowes for a couple of years and loved to show customers how strong it was, mainly just to see the expressions on their faces when I keyed it really hard.
Shop pergo laminate flooring at Lowes.com: Search Results
Be careful of other laminates they are not as strong and will scratch.
Meant to also add that all you need to clean Pergo is vinegar and water, no polishing ever!

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
That's all Pergo makes. Go look at it in a store, the stuff is amazing. You wouldn't know it's not hardwood.

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?
I have a bunch of samples of Pergo laminate flooring, and we picked out one we like... however we want to be environmentally friendly.
