Re: Urgent Help!! Not breathing Sav

i would attempt pet cpr

http://www.knowledgeweighsnothing.co.../12/petcpr.jpg

idk if it helps lizards but its worth a shot maybe

i wouldnt use as hard of chest compressions. I really have no clue what to do for reptiles but i do hope you can find something. this is really distressing

I wish there was something I could say or do.... But it sounds like he has passed on.

I am terribly sorry, I know how it feels, but sadly there isn't a lot that can be done. Sorry for your loss.
Was everything normal until now? Will you be having a necropsy done to determine the cause?

Re: Urgent Help!! Not breathing Sav

Looks like he's gone guys, tried pretty much anything that come to mind I think at the back if my mind I visioned movement after trying things but its clear hes not coming back :'( and yes pretty much everything was fine, temps, humidity held fine, 70/60 top soil play sand except I have him a larger water bowl, not adding any depth it was just bigger on the width I have no idea why this has happend. He could get out of the water bowl with a breeze therefor I'm shocked as to why this has happened and to think of all those little moments like the first time they come up to you, then the first time they crawl onto you and before you know it you come back to that devistated to say the least especially with my drive to research to ensure he's being kept well. Thanks for all your support, not only on this post but for my other threads that people have helped me on

thats so sad. Today is the day of sads. I am so sorry for your loss. It cannot be easy. Maybe he had an issue you didnt know about that caused the drowning. Could lizards get seizures?

This is what I'm thinking. You might want to consider having a necropsy done to determine the cause.

If they do a necropsy and find foam in the lungs then its possible he drowned though that would raise a lot more questions as healthy monitors dont drown, if not then maybe a seizure caused him to flip in his water and his airway cut off before he could actually drown? I am not saying a seizure caused this but I am inquiring about the possibility of a neurological problem that just happened to occur when he was going for a swim or drink.

When I tried applying pressure to his chest there was foamy sort of flemmy like stuff coming out. I'm confused though my sav seemed so happy, was really fast at catching food, would let me handle when ever and would come onto my hand... The only odd thing that's happened twice since I've had my sav is I've had him/her in the morning and he/she was still in the water bowl, one was when I had wood chips substrate, once changed never done it again until I made a hill with the substrate for him to burrow and he some it the day I did that. So after 4 - 5 months he had stayed in his water bowl over night just on two occasions, therefor the only thing that come to my mind was maybe he/she did it again but fell to sleep in the water.. I have no idea why it happened the only one other thing I did which I don't do often is give my sav a hard boiled egg, besides that nothing was unique compared to any other day. Humidity fine, temps fine, Arcadia UV Tube used top soil and play sand mixture and a happy Bosc as far as I could tell but this happened when I got back
