Has anyone had this happen to them?
Okay, I have a baby green anaconda and I haven't gotten her to feed on anything. However today I thought I'd try a large mouse (f/t) and she took it, but not with her mouth. She wrapped her body around it (shown in the picture) then she sat there and she started to eat it but then stopped. Any tips on how to get her to feed? I keep her humidity at 50-70% with temps about 83 degrees. I was told chicks but I can't get them till January. [IMG]  [/IMG]

Yup was just thinking that. To busy trying to not get eaten in a strange place. Are you certain the f/t rat is at a proper temp before presenting?
I would start there before any of the more extreme measures like braining or anything.

Yes I soak it in warm water till it is thawed out and its warm not hot or cold. Also I've tried feeding her in her enclosure but she shows no interest in it. I try during the day and at night. I offer food every week. This is the first time I've took her out to feed her.

Before offering simply place it in really hot water. As hot as your tap will get.
Feed in enclosure.
I'd try live animals at this point.

I have tried live once and she had no interest, that was the first thing I offered her. Ill try what you suggested next Sunday and ill see how it goes. Thank you for the feed back!

I haven't touched her for 4 weeks this is my first time e ben touching her.

83 degrees is not that hot mate
are you sure thats enough heat to allow the snake to digest ?

I was keeping her at 85 and a warm spot of 90 but every one I talked too said that was too hot and it could be stressing her out they told me keep her enclosure at 83 and with a warm spot of 88

Were these "everyone" actual successful anaconda keepers, or people who once had an anconda for a short time, or just read a caresheet from somewhere?

The guy I bought her from. He has been keeping them for years, I was just going by what he said. I'm guessing by his response he is wrong?
