I would love to go see this snake in person but I'm far away from Kansas City. Over 25 feet long, reticulated python.. I wonder if it'll get any bigger?
Watching this makes me want to get a baby pet retic and feed him nothing but the top of the line protein and raise him like a body builder and see if I can top the record.
Although I haven't went back and reread the thread, I believe Kyle believes this girl is grossly overweight (most large retics are).
There's also another Medusa somewhere that was in the running for world's largest, but I can't remember where she is or who owns her. And then there is Twinkie at Prehistoric Pets.
A quick google and then trying to search through Guinness site prior to posting this, didn't give me any information if this is actually true or not. Jay Brewer from Prehistoric Pets is still saying Twinkie is the world's largest.
However, I would like to know where the narrator got his facts about retics eating humans. I haven't done extensive research on it, but I haven't found not one truthful account of a retic, whether captive kept or wild, eating a human.
Medusa's handler reminds me of some backwoods hillbilly. He doesn't appear too smart and to me, he seems like he's honestly scared of the animal and only keeps her because she's an attraction he can make money with.
At least Jay knows his animal, has a good dose of respect for her, and honestly cares about her well being. I've spoken with Jay more than once about Twinkie.

It's really annoying how they narrator goes o about how reticulated pythons "are known to eat people" and they show that one ridiculously photo-shopped picture with half a person hanging out of a retic's mouth. Epic snake though.
Medusa in KC is not 25 ft long.
Medusa in Arkansas, owned by Harry Wessels fo Monster Snakes is not 25 ft long (and he doens't claim she is either).
They're both giants, but not 25ft. Notice how she's "the longest snake in captivity", I can't dispute that, but she's not 25ft.
The one I think you guys are talking about is Fluffy. She died in 2007 in the Columbus Zoo of an apparent tumor. IIRC, she was a tiger or super tiger phase. If I'm not mistaken, she's one of Bob Clark's animals. I get a bit confused because I know he had another Fluffy who was a normal, I think. But I don't think that Fluffy was the world's largest. I could be wrong though. Two Fluffy's make things a bit confusing for me lol
