Reptile charities??
Hey everyone!
I'm very excited for christmas this year. I've never been to huge on Christmas, because me only being 15 I've never had much of a way to make much money. I always felt bad and dreaded christmas, because everyone gave me presants, but I neve had money to get them all presents back. This year my dad decided we wernt going to do a normal Christmas this year. He thinks we are becoming to materialistic. This year he is giving me and my sister each 75$ (and we can use however much we want of our own money from chores and stuff) to spend on whatever we want to donate to whatever chariety we want. It's finally my chance to give back. As soon as he told me this I started thinking about finding a chariety that helps abused reptiles. I could buy medican, food, hides, tanks, etc. And donate them to help herps in need. The problem is I don't know of any. What are some good charities You guys know of that I could help out, even if it's just a little. Thanks everyone

Re: Reptile charities??
I think what you are doing is a great thing! I would visit some local shelters and see if they rescue reptiles. If they do use the donation to help get them some basics they may need for them. I personally don't like to donate to larger companies or places seeing as a lot of the money goes to other things than where it is intended to go to. If you do a local one you could buy all the supplies and simply drop them off knowing the money went where you wanted it to.

Re: Reptile charities??
You could also google reptile rescues or Herpetological societies in your state. I'm pretty sure if you find a herpetological society near you, they could put in the right direction of rescues.

Re: Reptile charities??
That is great! Major kudos to you Like Kat said, I think the best would be to personally visit local shelters/rescues and see if they take reptiles, and what supplies they need. Keep us posted!

Re: Reptile charities??
Well so far I've only looked online and I can't find any reptile shelters near me, but I'm going to keep looking. A lot of the shelters around here are closed Sunday's and I have a few questions for some of them. I'll call sometime in the next few day and keep looking. I'll keep You all posted

Holiday Wish List
This looks like something I might be interested in. They have a holiday wishlist of what they need and what animal(s) it will go to. Here is the link for the list and adress to send donations to if anyone else would like to do this as well .

USARK, help them fight so you can keep your boa, if you decide to donate to them be sure to specify its for the big snake lawsuit.
