Looks like it to me. Do you know if they probed or popped them? I've heard sometimes males can be very difficult and won't pop.

I sure hope so! Wow!

This is my very first lock, so, can you tell by the water the tails are locked which is the male?

Re: Is this what i think it is?

imo you definatly do NOT have 2 females there Roy

as far as i know you won't be able to tell who is who,by looking at them locked mate...

if your lucky enough to see them unlock, you may catch a glimpse of hemipenes (not a pretty site )

cheers shaun

If provided perfect breeding conditions, males will lock with each other, and females will lock with each other. Time to pop or probe.

Indeed they will. I was at a reptile store and I was about to by a "breeding" pair. I asked him if I could probe them, he proceeded to tell me it was useless, because he had a picture on his cell of the pair locking. I the bought the pair of FEMALES.

Why did you have them together if you weren't breeding?

Yes mate, they're all adults. I have 0 experience probing and to do so, I'd pay a vet to come ($55. My other option is to bring both (or possibly just the "male" in question) to the All Animal Expo which is Saturday. Do I really want to disrupt them by bringing them out in 40° temps?
