tank for my corn snakes

I have two male corn snakes that are both pretty small, and I want to build them a tank this is my first project like this and was wondering about some ideas. I want it to last for life so it has to be good sized. any help is welcome thanks

Firstly you need to build TWO tanks, not one. Corns are not social animals and housing two together will only cause you trouble in the long run.

Personally i keep my corns individually in 3x2x1.5foot vivariums made of melamine with glass sliding doors on the front.

Any specific questions justlet us know.

So far they've been housed together for the past 3 months but when I bought them I was told I could house them together cause thats what I was worried about. Do I need to seprate them imediatly or can I put it off for a while?

Corns fall somewhat in the middle based on my experience. You are taking a gamble IMHO, it may work out housing them together, or it may not, possibly leading to irreversible results. I would try to get separate enclosures for the long run.

When i first joined this forum i did lots of research about keeping corns together. This forum said NO! But other research said it was possible, i made my own decisio and kept them together.

About six weeks later i notcied that one was chasing/harassing/bullying the other allover the viv. They were both only months old and in a four foot viv so they had plenty of space but they wouldnt co-exist nicely.

I separated them as soon as i saw this behaviour but would not like to think what would happen if i hadnt separated them, or if i had been out of the house........

At the end of the day they are YOUR snakes so it is YOUR choice but there are no GOOD reasons for keeping them together and only risks imo.

Every one of my corns are housed separately, and hatchlings are separated as soon as they hatch.

Here's the thing, even if they "get along", if one regurges, or has an abnormal poop, how do you know which one?? treating a regurge is very important to get the the gut flora balanced properly again, and it is imperative to know who "threw up". Also, although corns are very hardy snakes, IF one DOES get sick, so will the other if housed together.

There are so many reason NOT to cohab and absolutely no reason to cohab, so I would separate them ASAP were I you.

Thank you! im gonna seperate them as soon as possible you brought up some really good points. especially the health issues hadnt really thought about that.
