My dog hurt his leg D:
And of course it's the saturday of a holiday weekend. I know I can keep him relatively still until Tuesday when his vet gets back in but is there anything I can give him for pain? He's 165 lbs.

Hard to say without knowing/seeing exactly what is wrong but personally if it isnt constantly whimpering i would just make sure it rests, if it is constantly whinmpering i would take it to the emergency vet straight away.

There's no emergency vet around here Rob. He whimpers when he stand and won't put any weight on it. The pain seems to be coming from the hock or below, not the knee or hip. I'm hoping it's just a really bad sprain and will get better over the next few days but you can tell he's in a lot of pain.

Me and my ex would give our Great Dane aspirin anytime he got aches and pains (which he ALWAYS had growing pains).

I think the best thing to do is put some ice on it and try to keep down swelling if any forms. And of course try to keep him off of his leg.

Half a Hydrocodone? At that weight a whole one? Not sure if that's bad for them or not, my uncle has been giving them to his dog.

I could probably stock a pharmacy with the prescription narcotics in our house between mine and my wifes, if we ever travel abroad we have to check in mega mega early and have all sorts of certificates and letters from doctors just to take them over the borders into europe let alone going somewhere like the US

i even carry heavy pain killers in the car,then have explain why they're there,and proove they're mine,everytime i get a,so called routine spot check,by the Police
i hope the dogs leg checks out ok,and is only something minor
