Talking New Fuzzbutt...*pics*

Here are a few pics of my newest (and last, for a while at least) pet rat!...She was a feeder from a litter of my friend's rats and I had her hold on to her for me...

She was something of a surprise, since her relatives and parents have given birth to MANY litters and she was the first t- albino to show up, since then they seem to be popping out everywhere! Statistics work in mysterious ways....It's especially odd since her parents are, obviously, heterozygous and have birthed many many 10+ baby litters, so one would think the albino allele would have reared it's head sooner...just goes to show that no matter how many babies have come from however many pairings, you can never be 100% sure of what kinds of recessive mutations your animals might be carrying.

Now for the pics!

Here's a shot to give you an idea of how she's dwarfed by my adult females. The one she's with is a beige...or, more technically, a t+ albino

It's interesting to see what comes out, our mice have lots of different markings compared to their parrents

Very true...I started out with a black female and a blue male...from their lineage I've gotten t- albinos (Pink-eyed Whites) and t+ albinos (Beiges) and, of course, more blues and blacks...also, some are silvered (ie. have white guard hairs dispersed throughout their coat).
