Question New to all of this! :)

Hi there, just wanted to say I'm happy I found this site, as I am totally new to the world of owning a snake. I just brought her home yesterday, she's a 3 month old ball python and I'm very excited!! She spent a good 2.5 hours exploring every part of her tank when I put her in, and then she has spent most of her time sleeping in her hollow log on the cool side. She did come out about midnight and went to her cave on the warm side for a few minutes, then back in her log. I won't be takIng her out till Wednesdsy for her first feeding with me, is late evening a good time to feed her? I'm also surprised how comfortable she seems with me, my husband and my two kids... We all handled her for just a minute in the store and then the next day (yesterday) when she came home with us. She seemed very relaxed and comfortable with all of us. I really hope she eats since she did not eat last week (they've been feeding her once a week). Any advice would be appreciated. Her temps are 78ish on the cool side and 88ish in the hot, at night both sides drop 3-5 degrees. She seems comfy but is this a good temp range??

Sure. Any time is good, actually.

Give her at least 7-10 days to settle in... don't handle her. Then you can offer her food. Once a week is the right schedule to feed her on. Get her on rats, rather than mice. Feed her in her enclosure; she's more likely to eat that way, since being moved out of her enclosure can be stressful.

How are you heating the enclosure? Are you using a thermostat?
Humidity is also very important. How are you measuring humidity? What's the humidity reading in there?
