[Video] Rattle Snake for Gods sake

Ran into a black Timber Rattler and a snake wrangler yesterday while on my way to go mountain biking. Click the link and read the description below it for the whole story. Crazy luck, crazy circumstances, crazy snake, crazy dude, crazy trip...crazy.

Woah...very cool. And crazy. What type of rattler is he? Seems to be a good size.

ah ok. Those went extinct here in Ontario a few decades ago. All we have now are Massasaugas (which are rarely seen where I live)

I live in Pennsylvania and it is the reverse here Massasaugas are an endangered species and the Timber rattler is common. I see Four or five a year, usually enjoying a patch of sun on the black coal trails that I ride bike on.

o.o holy crap. We went camping a couple weekends ago, and one of our friends killed a rattler at the camp site (too many kiddos running around for it to be safe). they're getting braver!

That's terrible to just kill the snake. Your friend should have left the snake alone.

It was a risk having all the kids around, though. This one was striking at him before he even saw her. He heard her, and they were trying to just get away, but she came after them >.<

cant call someone to relocate? i'm still not sure that snake still had to die for that. i understand that there is a safety issue but still i think there was a better way to handling it.

i also live in PA if i remember right timber rattlers are also on the endangered list as well. i don't think they are as common in pa as ppl think. It might just be you have a really good spot to find them

There is a hunting permit in PA that allows you to take one Timber Rattlesnake a year I think it costs $25. You're only allowed one captive snake at a time.

that is pretty cool to know thanks for the info but i have no ambition to own a hot snake or killing any snake for any reason.

Does the permit allow you just to relocate the animal?
