Shed or vet?

My dp Barnabas is going to shed soon,i believe, as his eyes were milky about 6 days ago but theyr kinda back to normal which i heard is common sign of molting, i think he may have respiratory infection as i hear him make a 'popping' sound sometimes, its not often at all, and he seems fine now but i dont want to take any chances,
Should i wait till he has finishef his shed before i take him?
My guess is yes cos he doesnt need the added stress, but i just want to double check

Re: Shed or vet?

I know that several of my snakes, Morelia species especially, make popping and wheezing sounds when they are in shed, then are perfectly fine once the shed has finished. I've learned over the years to bump up the heat a few degrees, make sure to keep humidity up to ease the shed and check the snake once shedding has finished. If your snake still seems to have RI symptoms after he has shed out, then call a vet. I think you should be ok though.

Re: Shed or vet?

I would wait a a few days till it sheds , some times loose shed can be in inside the nostrils and make the noises you hear.

Re: Shed or vet?

A few weeks ago, before his eyes went cloudy, he was on the grass, which still had lots of morning dew on it, and i saw clear liquid on his nose, i tried to get a closer look to see if it was actualling coming from his nose, or it was the grass dew but he was not happy jan when i tried firmly holding his head so i let it be,

But i will wait till he sheds, then see how he is from there. Thank you

Re: Shed or vet?

clear is usually just water. When my Burm had an RI the bubbles on her nose were a little milky. Like everyone else said, wait till he sheds then go from there. All of mine make wheezy/clicky noises when in shed and none more than my Burm.
