Re: My snake doesn't eat..
Try different kinds of food. besides fish, try mudskippers, eels, catfish and mullet. They may also eat crabs

Re: My snake doesn't eat..
Don't leave food in the tank for a week. It will get smelly and rancid

Re: My snake doesn't eat..
If he is loosing weight it might be time to force feed the snake. You can also try cutting small strips of store bought fish.

Re: My snake doesn't eat..
Store bought fish have added salts and preservatives. At most of the chain pet stores they sell frozen fish that are pretty large.

You can get it in the fresh fish section, at least at the stores around me. They are cut and wrapped as you order them.

I did not read that one. I do know a guy that raises garters and breeds them and only feeds store bought fresh fish. I guess it might have to do with the quality of the fish you purchase. I personally use a home made mixture of turkey, eggs, vit. and water that I use to tube feed any of my problem eater, until they eat on their own. It works great on water snakes. Have used this mixture for over 30 years and have great success with it. I had gotten the idea from the Cleveland Zoo reptile dept. when I was having some trouble with a few of my snakes eating.
