That PE-2 is 5 years out of date. Check out proexotics.com or tempgun.com for the current PE-2 model, which is improved over that model. You can also get it at spots like LLL Reptile.
Call to place your order and you can get a free metal case, and free shipping. Free shipping good for this week only, and you'll have to mention it to Nicci, I like to surprise her with spontaneous promotions : )
Oh, and a temp gun is the single most important husbandry tool to have for keeping reptiles!

Re: temperature guns
Thank you Robyn.. Folks it just does not get any better than this.. free shipping, and the padded metal case is a really nice way to store your temp gun when you are not using it.
I use mine to check the temps of my substrate, water in the water bowl, basking spot and to find the coldest spot in the cage to make sure it's within acceptable range, and it's all accomplished in mere moments, try that with a thermometer.

Re: temperature guns
Thanks for the update, Robyn. I thought that looked a little different from the ones on your site. But my company deals with Amazon marketing a lot and I know they do not update their images so I figured that may have been the case.

Re: temperature guns
That's an awesome deal. I have an old PE-1 somewhere, but it doesn't always work, despite new batteries.
I've recently been using one like this that my fiance bought for me, but the read-outs it always gives seem a few degrees hot to me. I'm not sure if I trust it 100%

There is not much that can go wrong with a PE-1. Try cleaning the lens, and also checking the E setting to be sure it is set at 95E.

Re: temperature guns
I see this thread 30 seconds after placing an order for the zoo med one. I was going to buy one for cars but decided it was to big. I never thought to order from pro exotics. I got the zoo med one for 15 shipped when they are usually 25 +shipping so I think I got a good deal. I am only expecting this to last about a year then Ill buy one from pro exotics.

Re: temperature guns
I have the PE-1, and have used it for the past several years. It has been rock solid, and trust me, it has been abused at times. Big vote for the Pro Exotic brand.
