Charcoal Snow?????
I am using the corn calculator to see what would happen if I bred my snow to my blizzard. it comes up with Amels, Snows, Blizzards, and "Charcoal Snows"
So I went to Ians Vivarium, to see how to tell the difference between Snow, Blizzard and Charcoal Snow hatchlings, and I can't find ANY pics of Charcoal Snows.
Anyone out that can help me with pics of Charcoal Snow cornsnakes, especially hatchlings???????

Re: Charcoal Snow?????
If you bred your snow (amel and anery) to your blizzard (amel and charcoal) you would get all amels het anery and charcoal. Breed the F1s together, amel het anery and charcoal x amel het anery and charcoal and you will get amels, snows, blizzards and amel anery charcoals. I don't know how you would tell the amel anery charcoal apart from the blizzards and the snows which is why you might not be able to find photos of them.

Re: Charcoal Snow?????
Did some research.... found this
Quote:
charcoal snow (also known as an anery blizzard or just plain old "amel anery charcoal")...
Other names for the same thing:
charcoal snow
anery blizzard
amel anery charcoal
|
It would look the same as a Snow or a Blizzard, but you could wait until they're adults and breed out the trait.

Re: Charcoal Snow?????
a snow developes yellow a blizzard doesnt because the snow is made with the anery x albino. The charcoal is an anery too but without the yellow so charcoal(aka anery b)x albino= blizzard

Re: Charcoal Snow?????
Would the triple gene snake not be slightly different then the 2 other double gene snakes? Assuming you get one of each in a clutch, then it should be fairly simple, should it not?

Re: Charcoal Snow?????
genetically, it would be different, but I was hoping to be able to tell the difference visually as hatchlings so I would know what to sell them as (I wouldn't be keeping them ALL into adulthood!!)
I'm getting the same problem introducing Butter to the snow line, breeding the F1 generation gives something called an Axanthic Snow. Problem is as a hatchling, it looks just like a snow, and as an adult it looks just like a blizzard!!!!! what do you do with that????

Re: Charcoal Snow?????
You just come to learn small visual cues when comparing to other babies in the same clutch, at least thats what I find in ball pythons... I've always like morphs that resemble pretty normals, so I got pretty good at it just because it interests me. You'll find the same once you look through a few examples of what you're talking about... last thing I checked with corns though, when it comes to selling, isn't the price difference usually like maybe $50 for the higher end morphs? I'd just label them as what you think they are/ probable whatever they look like, and price accordingly... the petstores just call them fancy now lol, at least your still a major step up from that!
