So, we had a kid moving our yard, and he found a snake, and since I'm the 'go-to reptile gal' of the household, I was brought out to identify it.
Ick. Kid was basically smushing it with a stick to keep it from moving. I wonder if he'd like to be held to the ground by a stick..
Anyways, I had no idea was it was, so put it in a little critter keeper I use to check out wild snakes, got on the computer and looked up my state's native snakes, found a snake that looked very much like it, why I believe it's a texas brown snake.
As I'm about to go let him out in the front yard, my mom found another snake, so I put the brown snake on the front porch, go back to the back yard and take the other snake which is something I've seen before, a lined snake.
They both got freed in the front yard, which is mower-free, and dog-free.
I know the rules, and grabbed my camera to take some pictures as proof.
