How long is too long?

Hello all, I have a quick question; I purchased a snake from a well-known breeder down in the States back at the end of November, at which point they told me "the CITES are on their way and should be here any day now". The money for the snake was taken off my CC within days, and I am being told that they have STILL not received the CITES for this snake. He is a reputable breeder, and ships with Delta Dash. My question is this, after almost seven weeks, should I start to make a fuss, ( the reason that I haven't yet is that he is a well-known and reputable breeder). Thanks.

It took Glades Herps almost 4 months to get CITES permits for dart frogs. I don't know if the species makes a difference. Another frog breeder had to wait just over 5 months for permits. Seems CITES and Canada make a lot of exporters cringe, since it takes forever. Never did find out why it's slow for us. From my experience, 2 months isn't too long.

It will take a minimum of 6 weeks to get your CITES permit. Here is how long it has taken for CITES in the past:

Bob Clark: 8 weeks (1997)
NERD: 4-10 months (1998-2000)
Ralph Davis: 2-3 months (2001-2003)

Maybe a dumb question but what is a CITES permit.

Nice too know I have heard of it before. Never really buy anything out of country so really never needed it
