Helping out the little ones :)

So for the fast few weeks there has been a wasp (i think, doesn't look like a bee), living on the plastic we use to winter insulate out bathroom window. He must have gotten in the house on one of those warm days we had a few weeks back. I see him now and again but it has been too cold to let him outside so I just splash some water on the plastic for him to drink up. Well he showed up again today and he is looking thin and sick. Not moving too much and his abdomen it tiny. Decided to catch him and put him in a little cricket keeper with some water and natural honey from our neighbor. He went right to the honey and has been eating it up like crazy. Been half an hour and he is already looking better.

Going to get his strength up and let him go. Hopefully he tells all his friends to be nice to us this summer

Oh man you have more guts than I do. If I ever had one phobia in my life, its been against all bees and wasps. It is a good thing you are doing though.

Wow talk about caring. Not many people keep a wasp around and then feed it when they think it looks sick. Kudos.

lol, i believe that wasps/bees along with spiders and other creepy crawlies have a collective communication between them. I base my actions on I don't hurt them and they don't hurt me. Even the spiders in my house get to stay. As long as they aren't somewhere like my bedroom over my bed then I leave them. They clean the air, catch the flying bugs and are really interesting to watch. this little guy has been around for so long now I just cant let him out knowing that he is doomed from the start. He will be free again once he gets his energy up (which he is doing much better now) and when it is warm enough.

hasn't been all winter, he came in the house a few weeks ago when we had a warm spell. He has been living in my bathroom and I just collected him today.
