No, I compete in breed trials. They need to be cropped and docked to breed standard. It doesn't hurt them. My mammal vet is a pro when it comes to local anesthetic.

A lot of breed shows in the UK no longer accept docked tails (unless the dog has had injury or is a worker at risk of injury) at their shows and pinned ears have been banned for years.
My opinion is that cosmetically altering an animal is unnecessary and cruel

Re: Dream list picture thread!
It's a rainbow lorikeet. I've had 2 lorikeets before (different subkinds) and they are the best pets ever. Better than dogs!

The dogs WILL be worked in areas where having floppy ears and long tails could cause injury. My dobs will be trained as follows: The males will be schutzhund dogs specializing in search and rescue. The females will be trained cadaver dogs.

It's so pretty! I'm slowly starting to get a fondness for tropical birds.

If you ever get one, get a lorikeet. I promise you won't regret it. Their only flaw is that they poop liquidy so it's a little messy, but their personality makes up for it hundredfold! They are naturally pretty tame, so if they've been handled since they hatched, you can do anything with them and they love it all

Re: Dream list picture thread!
Right now I really want an African gray or a sun conure. I can't decide between the two.
Here's another dream animal. I want to get my falconer's license so I can have one of these:
Yes, I realize that they aren't falconing birds (don't confuse falcons with falconing), but I could definitely use a carrion eater around here.

Hahaha you're funny! And you should still get a lorikeet instead of the other 2

Re: Dream list picture thread!
Hubby loves the African gray and I like the idea of the conure because I heard they're mean.
