Re: Here he is...:)
Still unsure what to do about the mother. I'm pretty set on something being genetically wrong with her. I got her for 50 bucks in a shop that just got 3 in. Being the cheap a** I am, I got it. The next time I went in the rest were all dead and handed to me to skin for him. Despite many baytril treatments and increased heat, she always bubbled, bloated her throat and had secretions around her mouth. Half the time she seems fine, the other half , half dead. When I introduced the male for breeding, she showed these signs again. After a few weeks together he never showed any signs. That makes me think it's just her. If it was an RI i'm pretty sure he would have gotten from her, but he's always healthy.
I don't know what to do with her. Try to find her another home? I'd hate to euthanize her but she seems like she's in pain most of the time.

i had a jaguar python like that Randy
i spent hundreds of pounds trying to get to the bottom of it,only for him to drop dead aged about 4 years of age
we even did key hole surgery on his lung, all that showed up was a nice pink healthy looking lung, with small droplets of mucas
we took swabs, but NO infection was found
my vet reckoned he had a condition similar to human cystic fibrosis sufferers
your wee miricale snakes a very nice patterned, good looking, wee guy mate
cheers shaun

The baby is very nice looking. I'm glad one made it.
But surely I am not the only one that sees the elephant in the corner? Where are all our 'straight shooters'?

Re: Here he is...:)
He sure is a lucky fellow. And quite the looker! Congratulations on him.
As far as the mother, yes, it sounds like a problem with her. You're the one who spends time with her, so that is your call to make. I'm sorry you're in his predicament.

Re: Here he is...:)
I would cap her myself. Something is definitely wrong.

Re: Here he is...:)
I don't have the time to take care of her as good as i'd like to right now. I've tried finding her a new home yesterday and today. It's either idiot friends who know nothing about snakes other than "I'll be so cool" or back to the shop I got her from.

Never heard of such a thing here. I'll post some adds at the vets around and give it a week.
Any tips for the new guy would be appreciated. Should I not even attempt a feed until the first shed? How long until it's safe to pop it?

Re: Here he is...:)
PM sent. This is a place that will find him a home or take care of her right? If they're just going to kill her, I can do that myself. And have a shiny new wallet and boots.
