Ahhh! My first escape in years!!

So my new little hoggie is a run away

Last seen, last night.
Its been 24 hours and he is nowhere to be found.

I have hot spots with hides all over the pace
f/t pinkies and rats all over the place
flour trails all over the place

Any suggestions on where 5 inch hoggie would go is more than appreciated

Re: Ahhh! My first escape in years!!

I have my snake room pretty sealed off but he is the smallest snake I own so it is a possibility. I have checked already but i am letting the hustle and bustle calm down for a bit, maybe he will feel safe making a move. I will definitely check bathroom again though, thanks

Check the smallest, tightest, darkest places you can find

Re: Ahhh! My first escape in years!!

When my snake escaped he was found in my mom's sock drawer
But that was a 4 foot snake, not 5 inches

Is there carpet? Check under the edges and near baseboards. Pretty much like someone else said and any small dark place!

Also, find out how he got out ASAP. Fix whatever made his escape possible. Do it now.

Ok glad you fixed the problem. Sounds like you need to secure that lid more. Don't underestimate the strength of the wee little ones!!

Have you searched his entire enclosure and dug up all the substrate? sometimes they can hide in the little corners and it'll appear like he's missing.

I use industrial velcro to secure tubs, they're too "easy" to escape even with latches imo

hopefully you find him

check heaters, computers, etc. they all give off heat, obviously.

if you have any reclining chairs, check inside those but be SUPER careful opening/closing them!

Re: Ahhh! My first escape in years!!

I am so sorry this happened and definitely empathize for you. I'm not sure what thread it was in, but someone posted about making a trap, I think it was a plastic bottle with something on top so the snake could get in but not out. I'm sorry I can't remember what the title of the thread is. Hopefully someone else can direct you to it. Best of luck to you! I hope the little guy shows up for you.
