I'm torn right now... i kinda want to get a larger snake, i was thinking a retic or a burm, but part of me isnt overly sure because... well... all i've got is my bp and i'm wondering if i would have what it takes >_<
i'm open for any sort of advice on this honestly, and obviously you guys are the best to go to
I'm probably only ever going to own 2 snakes, if that means anything :P

Re: so like....
I would look into coastals, olives, and boa constrictors if I were you, they are great larger snakes that are easier to care for then a burm or retic. Black heads too, though I don't like them lol. That's my preference. Bredli's are also plenty big and are thicker and heavier then most carpets I find. At 8 feet they are impressive! Like scrub pythons only dense. Females usually get larger then males as you know, so go for a female if you want size. Sorry to hear about your Rainbow Boa, that really sucks... Good luck!

Re: so like....
I second a Boa or Carpet. Easy to care for and not huge huge. Boas are great . They get impressive, look great and won't break the bank for food. Carpets are also just as cool in every way. The difference is Boas tend to be about 1/3 as active as Carpets. So if you want a snake to watch TV with get a Boa. A snake you have to chase and keep both eyes on get a Carpet. Or better yet do what I did .... Get both
Big enough???

Plenty big! Great family shots! The amount of strength still at that size is very impressive, you probably don't the strength of a burm going against you while you're on your own. A boa or a Carpet may not seem big, but they are when you hold them. Best to stay in range of what you can handle. I wouldn't go as big as a burm or a retic as your second snake. Take a look above and that's what you want, trust me!

The website doesn't seem to have been updated in along time but if he is still doing business....great snakes.

Re: so like....
Yeah I would move up slow to the real big ones, I started out with ball python then moved to boas then retics and burm. There are a lot of snakes out there that get big but not too BIG.

Wait until you move. You'll have plenty to handle to see if one of mine is what you want.
