Ordering a New AP Rack Tomorrow
I let the cat out of the bag the other day when I mentioned this on another thread so I might as well make this official now. Tomorrow I will be going to Animal Plastics and personally ordering a new 4 shelf 41qt rack that looks just like the one I have now, shown below. I will have to pay half down and then the rest when its finished 5 weeks later but all things considered, its worth the wait. Its still quicker to do it this way than trolling CL until one comes up.
Yes, Animal Plastics is located right here in the Des Moines metro so I find that to be quite convenient as opposed to ordering online and paying for shipping costs. I am so looking forward to this.

Re: Ordering a New AP Rack Tomorrow
Yeah well when you have 15 snakes and not a lot of room, racks are awesome. I am severely wrench challenged so building cages is beyond what I am capable of doing so I have to buy them. Below is everything I use.
Black Betty is in the 6' Neodesha, Euryale is in the Boaphile and Schatzi is in the 20L. The rest of my snakes are in the racks.

No wrench needed to build your own rack.

Re: Ordering a New AP Rack Tomorrow
Went to Animal Plastics today. Unfortunately, they were out to lunch but I am waiting for their return call. When that happens, I will place the order for that new rack I need.

I am not getting any new snakes. This is for the purpose of making room for the snakes I already have. My current 41qt rack will house Popeye on top, Arwen just below him, Euryale will vacate the Boaphile and go to the third tub down and Gandalf the Grey will go to the bottom tub. The new rack will consist of Vanessa on top, Merlin just underneath her, Miss Piggy just underneath her and Kermit on the bottom. That will empty the two 15qt tubs in the economy rack the Macks are vacating. Those empty tubs will be moved down to the bottom and all the rest of the tubs in that rack will be moved up.
After the Boaphile is emptied, it will be cleaned and sold.
Btw, I am getting a male Corn on loan for the purpose of breeding with Schatzi and when they are done, I will send him back but I will not give the go ahead to have him shipped until I get a 20L tank to put him in.

Just placed the order and paid half down. The ball is now rolling and in a short period of time I will have that new rack.

Yes I understand that Mykee Those are just expressions of mine that say that I am not mechanically inclined and have never been a "do it yourselfer". My frustration threshold is way too low and once I get frustrated with something, I can no longer think clearly enough to finish the project.

Re: Ordering a New AP Rack Tomorrow
Ok 3 weeks down as of today and 2 more to go. Then I can go get this rack, bring it home and set everybody up. The anticipation of it all is very exciting.

Re: Ordering a New AP Rack Tomorrow
4 weeks down and 1 to go. I also found out today that what I ordered was not like the one I currently have. I currently have an Iris CB70. The one I actually ordered was a Sterilite 1860/1960 series rack. Same 4 shelves and same dimensions but will need different tubs. Im glad I didnt actually get the tubs yet as I dont think the Iris tubs fit this rack..
