She spent her first few days here in her vine norm, I think her hides are a little on the large side. So yesterday I packed some of the aspen shavings into them and this seems to have done the trick, because today shes been in both of them for a while

Ah, good thinking. I'll try that with my little one. I gave him the smallest hide I have but he still doesn't use it. Thanks for the tip.

It makes sense and can't hurt anything. I'm going to switch back to wood mulch substrate in my tubs tomorrow so I'll try it then.
