Skyler - Epicrates cenchria maurus sp.

The jury is still out on exactly what subspecies of Rainbow Boa that Skyler *really* is, but that doesn't stop her from lookin' hot, so here are a couple of shots from tonight

She's looking good, as usual. Nice composition of your shots, Todd.

Any idea as to what she weighs?

Re: Skyler - Epicrates cenchria maurus sp.

Thanks, folks. I sure enjoy her

I have no idea what any of my snakes weigh - haven't weighed one for over 20 years. She's heavier than a pound of butter, but not as heavy as I am, lol. I'd say she's a little under a kilo, but I couldn't say for sure. Next time you're in the Capital, bring a scale and we'll find out, lol.

She's gorgeous. I might be in your neck of the woods over the holidays. If so I will bring my scale

Awesoe snake she does seem heavier bodied than some of the others I've seen it woud be interesting to know her locality but she is a beautiful healthy snake

She's some subspecies of Columbian; likely Guyana (thought to be a cross and not actually defined as a separate subspecies), but possibly Paraguay. Either way, Columbians tend to be a more robust snake than their Brazilian and Argentine counterparts, which is why I like them.

When she's not at rest like in those images (I had just lifted the paper she was curled under, so she was very chill and not tensed-up), she's all muscle; very defined and it took a lot to get her that way. She was quite chunky when she came to me, so she's been on a strict routine of banister exercise to keep those muscles toned ever since

Haha, she's not huge, but she's not small. She measured exactly 48" on October 24th and I've since upped her food size to med. rats, so she ain't gonna be getting any smaller

Gorgeous. I'm thinking I might have to have a Rainbow boa some time down the line.

They're a really under-rated snake, in my opinion. You can't swing a cat without hitting a Brazilian, but I really enjoy all the subspecies of Rainbow (particularly Columbian and Argentine), and they're an excellent alternative to a Boa Constrictor for those in areas where larger constrictors are banned.
