Re: Built the Savannah Monitor cage!
So if you built in in 12 hrs and set it up...how did you seal all the wood?

Re: Built the Savannah Monitor cage!
What type of sealer did you put on the wood to prevent mold or rot?

Even if it was pre-treated it should have sealer on all the joints. Caulking or something. That takes time to cure.
OP- I think it looks great and I'm not looking to start anything I just was wondering what you used that cured in that time line. Or how you did it

He built this because he's getting one soon

Re: Built the Savannah Monitor cage!
I like the cage. Great job on it. Curious though, is it ok for the bulbs to be exposed like that?

Yes, its actually recommended for them to be exposed like that. If, for some reason, the monitor goes to grab at the hot bulb, because it is just hanging by the cord it will just swing away from it. Also, because there is no housing around the bulb, there is nothing for the monitor to grab onto. Putting a hood around it gives something for the monitor to grab and climb up onto, thus allowing it to potentially get hurt.
