Midnight - Anerythristic Brazilian Rainbow Boa

Rather than take pictures using my usual background(my desk). I built a homemade light tent and decided to try it out on my Female Anerythristic Brazilian Rainbow Boa Midnight. Let me know what you think.

I know some people don't really care for anery morphs; I say those people have just been looking at the wrong snakes!!! It's incredible to me how photos of anery's look like a regular snake photoshopped into greyscale. Still have all of the qualities (Iridescence, patterning, etc)...I love anery corns, and I REALLY love the look Midnight's got going on! Can't wait to see some Ghost BRB's come from ya though

Looks like the tent worked pretty good. Sweet looking snake. May i make one suggestion try using a brighter light or a second light might help show the iridescence along with it's color better. You got the color really good, but if you could catch the iridescence of it to in the picture, it would really help show just how beautiful this Anery BRB are. IMO hope it helps.

I like dark snakes, but I have to say I prefer the normal in this case

I appreciate the input. I'm planning on adjusting my light tent setup slightly, but I'm very pleased that the photos are pretty accurate to the snake's actual color. Adding one more light and tweaking a couple things should do the job.

Capturing Brazilian Rainbow Boa's iridescence can be challenging. You need perfect lighting, and the camera at just the right angle. Although I prefer the color of "Normal" BRBs, the great value of Aneries comes when you combine them with Hypo or Albino genes. You can also breed Aneries for Pearl, Bullseye, and other pattern morphs. I'll be thrilled when my Ghost project comes to fruition. Regardless of that, they look pretty cool in their own right.

yeah will be cool to see the combos

I think with BRB morphs seeing in flesh is going to be the key

any good sites that explain the many BRB morphs? I would love to read up on them. I've found a few but they don't seem to describe as many as I thought there might be. This seems to be the best so far. Your anery seems to be a fantastic example, really dark.

I was just wondering what all the different morphs were and if they were just bred into prominence through selective breeding or if, like certain BPs, you would end up with one morph by breeding two different morphs.

The current Brazilian Rainbow Boa color morphs are Hypo, Anery, and Albino. These can be combined for more variations in color. For example, Hypo + Anery = Ghost, Albino + Anery = Snow, Hypo + Albino + Anery = Moonglow. For pattern morphs there are Pearl, Bullseye, Eclipse, Stripes, Aberrant, etc. The color and pattern morphs can also be combined.

I have a few clarifications/additions to the morph discussion. I do kinda follow this topic too, you know...for some reason or other. ;-)

One, to the best of my knowledge, albino has not yet been proven. It should be soon, however.

Two, Ghosts are already on the ground. Not many, but they exist.

Three, Calico is also in development.

As a final, general caution, be careful of certain sites that claim to list all the morphs. Many of them mix in speculative or unproven traits and claim them as full morphs. Just because a single animal has an interesting trait does not mean it is reproducable.
