Anyone see Bieber's boa?
Justin Beiber brought a baby boa (say that 5 times fast) to the VMAs last night, thought I would ask.
No, I am not a Justin Beiber fan.

Re: Anyone see Bieber's boa?
The idea of bringing a reptile in front of 100s or 1000s of people, not to mention the lound music/bass, for an extended period of time is ridiculous, the stress to the baby animal alone makes it risky.
I'm all for exposing people to animals, but if half those people are screaming negatively, it doesn't really give reptiles a good name.

For some reason though I think that is better than having a snake being held for several hours in a busy place with the possible wrong temperatures AND the general vibrations from the music, crowd, ect. At least in a zoo they can stay in the back of the enclosure and hide themselves away. If you don't see a snake or whatever kids are FAR less likely to even pay any attention to the enclosure.

Re: Anyone see Bieber's boa?
I can just see a whole lot of Bieber fans wanting to get a boa now because he has one. So many un cared for snakes already do there need to be more.

Yeah, I imagine there will be quite a few kids trying to snatch up a Bieber Boa or people trying to sell them specifically targeted towards the teen/tween set. A shame they won't have the same access to vets and handlers as the Bieber kid.

Re: Anyone see Bieber's boa?
Society is just crap nowadays. Just because a celebrity has something people feel they need it so they can be "just like them"

Re: Anyone see Bieber's boa?
I love it. "It'll get, like, four feet [or 7 feet]. It's gonna get big [but not nearly as big as 45% of the rest of the constrictors]." Brackets are mine.
Not only is he likely going to cause a craze like Nismo said, but HE'S not even done his research. Can't stand it.

Re: Anyone see Bieber's boa?
That what he was talking about. I just caught the part where he said "My snakes name is Johnson." So thought he was talking about something else. lol I didn't even see the snake. A few years ago Britteny Spears did a performance with a Albino Burmese wrap around here.

Re: Anyone see Bieber's boa?
i dont think its all bad, if the snake were scared or uncomfortable, it would have musked him, or started biting, unless it was too cold, which im Sure it was, but even then it would be calm and not make snakes look worse. to be honest i think its great! a sqeeky clean little boy superstar with a snake, that as far as i can tell was behaving itself, showing it off as a great pet, and it looked like a pretty one at that, lets face it, hes with stars, stars pretty much rule the mainstream world, the more people that find out they are not all bad, the better. i would not do it because the benefits would not clearly out way the bad imho. as soon as i read 4 feet, i started lauphing, unless its a dwarf species, even then it still will be bigger than that lol i just hope its not another little nemo event like stated in the other post, which i think will be a bad backlash. oh and chuck, who could forget that event lol not this guy<<< LOL
