Are milk snakes usually inactive?
I just got a new Pueblan milk snake 2 weeks ago, he is eating perfectly fine and everything, but when I put him back in his cage he just hides, he could go for a day without even moving. He rarely moves, unless I have to pick him up and feed him. I know their nocturnal, but when I go to sleep and wake up in the morning, he is still in the same place. Is this normal? Or is he just getting more comfortable with his new home?

Perfectly normal..I have 4 milk snakes and they are all that way.

Its normal for them to be inactive? Whats wrong with my cousins snake? Hes a breeding sized male, might be... interested in the ladies.

Could be hes insecure, I've never owned one but my cousins milk snake is like the energiser bunny, he keeps on going and going and going.

My older Pueblan hides in his aspen shavings all day, he only shows up to eat or drink.
My younger Pueblan hides a lot, but he's very active when he gets hungry.
My two eastern milks are similar, the 3 year old is fairly active, but his mother is a hider, she comes out to eat, then hides again until she's hungry.

In regards to being in the same spot when you go to bed and wake up, I have seen this in my carpets except that in between they have covered the entire cage exploring. Sometimes its uncanny how near perfect they can regain the same position for resting. I have even tried taking a pic from a known distance and retaking it later and they match almost exact.

My milk snake is pretty inactive. Unless you pick him up then he goes a bit crazy!

Forgot to mention that, both pueblan milks will musk me bad, my easterns (Triangulum) they never musk or bite.
Carmella is so calm she does this without hesitation....

My carpet is also extra-hidey. She sometimes explores in the night but I only ever notice when I have a random 3am bathroom trip and she hides instantly when I get up.
